Remembering Dick Jefferies
Earlier this month, former CPRW Board Chair Dick Jefferies of Fort Collins passed away. In 2012, when the High Park and Hewlett Gulch wildfires burned over 90,000 acres of the Cache la Poudre Watershed, Dick helped to form the High Park Fire Coalition- an informal collaborative with the aim to restore the watershed after the fire. After the early successes of the High Park Fire Coalition, Dick played a critical role in transitioning the informal group into the non-profit organization as we know it today – the Coalition for the Poudre River Watershed. Dick was Board President of CPRW from 2013-2018. The impact that Dick made on our watershed and organization is still felt today. He was truly passionate about the Poudre River and its wildlife. On behalf of everyone at CPRW, we send our love and condolences to his family and friends. We will miss him.
In lieu of flowers Dick requested donations be made to Trout Unlimited. Gifts can be sent to: Rocky Mountain Flycasters, PO Box 1694, Fort Collins CO 80524-1694.
